Show Notes

In this episode of Leaps of Faith, we’re tackling a big question: Is your “but”…your doubts, fears, and excuses bigger than your belief in God?
I share the story of our family’s move to and how God’s hand was in every detail… opening doors we couldn’t have opened ourselves. Even in seasons of blessing, it’s easy to let fear and feelings of unworthiness creep in. But faith and fear both have a vision. Faith sees God. Fear sees giants.

We’ll look at the Israelites’ journey to the Promised Land, explore the difference between faith-filled vision and fear-filled vision, and discover how to replace our “buts” with “because” so we can step into God’s promises without hesitation.

Whether you’re in a season of waiting, stepping into something new, or finally walking in an answered prayer—this message will help you trust God’s plan and embrace His blessings with confidence.

Scriptures Mentioned
  1. Exodus 3:8 – God promises to bring His people into a land flowing with milk and honey.
  2. Numbers 13:27 – The spies confirm the land truly flows with milk and honey, but fear clouds their faith.
  3. Proverbs 3:5–6 – Trust in the Lord, not your own understanding.

Journal Prompts
  1. What “buts” have been keeping me from fully believing God’s promises for my life?
  2. If I replaced my “but” with “because,” what would I start saying and doing differently?
  3. What blessings am I hesitant to fully embrace because I feel unworthy?

Scripture Reading Plan for the Week
Day 1: Exodus 3:7–12 – God’s promise to deliver His people.
Day 2: Numbers 13:25–33 – The spies’ report: faith vs. fear.
Day 3: Proverbs 3:1–12 – Trusting God’s direction in all things.

Reflection & Action Steps
  1. Identify your “buts.” Write down the phrases you’ve been saying that start with “But…” and replace them with faith statements that start with “Because…”
  2. Pray for eyes of faith. Ask God to help you see His promises and possibilities more than the obstacles.
  3. Celebrate past victories. Look back at moments when God came through for you and let that fuel your trust for the future.
